Victoria O'Brian
Victoria is an ST6 Geriatrics Registrar based at the John Radcliffe Hospital Oxford and currently co-chairs the British Geriatric Society Trainees council. She is passionate about person centred holistic care and loves the variety and teamwork her day job offers. She’s held local and national training representative positions and has shared her enthusiasm for quality improvement through regional foundation teaching and co-designing a national QI event for students.
She is an Alumni of the NHS Improving Global Health Fellowship where she led a service development project in palliative care and recently completed the National Medical Director's clinical fellowship (22/23) working on dementia care, workforce wellbeing and urgent and emergency service pressures at the Care Quality Commission.
Together with her co-presenters she helped establish the Aspiring Leaders in Healthcare Network and the International Forum on Quality and Safety in Healthcare Next Generation Advisory Panel. She hopes to help others recognise their everyday leadership skills and nurture them to their potential, creating effective teams and better care for patients.
